Just updated to the latest version and performed a two-way sync (Phone <> Outlook).
Now MPE wants to create 408 contact entries on my phone that are already there.
What do I do? I don't want to end up with 408 duplicate contacts!

Workaround...
1. Open Contacts - Phone
2. Note contact list has 0 ...

Ich habe gerade auf die neueste Version aktualisiert und eine bidirektionale Synchronisierung durchgeführt (Telefon <> Outlook).
Jetzt möchte MPE 408 Kontakteinträge auf meinem Telefon erstellen, die bereits vorhanden sind.
Was kann ich tun? Ich möchte nicht mit 408 doppelten Kontakten enden!

Since the update to 1.8.15, connection to android via Wifi takes many attempts

I have been using MPE for many years without any major issues.
This morning I noticed that all the contacts on my phone had been duplicated so instead of 900 on my phone, I had 1800 contacts. Outlook 2013 was still showing 900 contacts.

I have used MPE to sync contacts with Outlook for many years and the advice then was to only use Phone contacts to sync on the Android app.
As I now have a lot of Google contacts built up, and MPE and Google Contacts have matured, I am wondering what is the best setting to use on the MPE app...

I agree that this is a major nuisance. My contact updates are now in Google and not the phone and I cannot think of an easy way to merge them.

There are a number of Outlook plugins that can remove duplicate contacts. I've used ODIR (m) which is free and works fine.

More recently I've started using a simple, very quick and effective way to remove duplicate contacts that doesn't require any third party applications.

As a long time user of MPE and also a donator I've come to the conclusion that this mature app should be charagable. A free limited feature version would be a good way for new users to try the app. Maybe the next upgrade should be chargeable. The issue of malware definitely needs addressing though.
