My backup method is to make daily copies of all the dat files. It's an automated backup that takes place via task scheduler running a batch file that puts them into folders named according to date. Runs at the same time every day.[/img]

I suggest it should be as I never, ever enter data on a phone.

I think I asked this a few days ago but cannot find it now.

Is there a way to have MPE on the desktop computer always overwrite what is on the phone when synchronizing?

I had a similar "cannot connect" issue today and worked on it a few hours. Finally, in desperation, I deleted MPE Client on my phone, rebooted the phone, reinstalled it and it synced right up.

Boy, was it ever a surprise and a relief.

I just now remoted into his system and checked several of his appointments. "Delete passed appointments" wasn't selected on any I checked. I also cautioned him about that option.

OK, I got a phone for him today and spent an hour trying to get the MPE client to load from the play store with no success.

Is there a way to download the MPE client from a place other than the play store so I can side load it myself?

I installed MPE on his desktop computer about two years ago and it has worked as his contact and appointments database since then and he does not own a cell phone so I do not understand your assertion that MPE does not work at all without a phone.

What is Internal Sync Database and what is it supposed to do when I select it in Sync settings?

MPE => F2 => Sync => Sync with => Internal Sync-Database
