I have posted on this subject before and am still having this problem.
A few days ago, a friend's phone book inexplicably shrunk from over a hundred entries to about forty.
Today, his calendar had lost every past appointment he has ever entered. All future appointments were still present.
I've been making daily backups of his DAT files so I have been able to recover.
My friend is not computer savvy so maybe he is making mistakes from the keyboard and mouse that is inadvertently deleting data. So what possible mistakes can you imagine one could make that would accidentally delete data in this way?
Data mysteriously disappearing.

For the calendra there is an option in MyPhoneExplorer called "Delete past appointments". Its in the context menu of the calendar.
For the phonebook i have no explanation. MyPhoneExplorer does delete data only if they were marked for deletion (the red cross icon).
Did he sync with additional targets like Outlook or Thunderbird?

I don't know what you mean by that?Alex Ethridge hat geschrieben:I just now remoted into his system and checked several of his appointments. "Delete passed appointments" wasn't selected on any I checked.
This delete function 'Delete past evenst', what FJ was talking about, is in the context menu (right mouse button) of the appointment list

I right-clicked on several of his appointments and there was no check-mark next to "Delete passed events".
I see now that I was mistaken about how that deletion works.
My mistake and thanks again.
I watched him work today and noticed he somehow occasionally highlights many entries at once by accident. I told him to stop immediately and called his attention to the highlighted entries and explained that touching the wrong key or xxx accidentally in the wrong place on the screen could cause all of those highlighted records to be deleted.
He was surprised to know that and I explained the importance of de-highlighting those entries before doing anything else.
In reference to Phone, Organizer, etc., is there a way to set MPE to always have computer overwrite the phone? I've been through the menus and can't find such a setting.
