MPE says no contacts on phone but there are contacts on the

When I synchronize, MPE says there are no contacts on the phone but there are contacts on the phone. If I tell MPE not to transfer contacts to the phone, it wipes the MPE database on the computer out completely. If I tell MPE to transfer contacts to the phone, it does so but it creates duplicates on the phone (not on the computer). I now have six duplicates of every entry on the Motorola One phone. Also, I marked about a dozen entries for deletion but they do not get deleted.

How do I fix this?

Please check under Phone => MPE-Client => Settings => contact-accounts to sync whether the contact account in which your contacts are located is activated.
