Latest version keeps crashing

OK with previous versions of MPE I never once encountered the software crashing.

Now with latest version - it crashes regularly - this weekend , Friday night till just now I have had approx 5/6 crashes.

Can I go back to previous version until this version becomes more stable ? If so where can I download previous version please ?

On which actions the software crashes ? Or does it crash when MPE is in Standby ? If yes - only when connected or always ? I need more informations to find and fix a bug

will try and keep tabs and keep reporting back - but on this last crash I clicked on refresh view and it "fell over"

Hi!

I just downloaded your program (which I have looked all over the net for - it is a great idea!!) and wanted to ask why my version also keeps crashing.

The problem for me is that I cannot seem to open MPE most of the time; the main window will show up but then the whole thing disappears within 2 seconds. I then get an error message telling me to end the program.

The one time I managed to sync was straight after I installed the program for the first time. But even then it only got through phone contacts before crashing on me. I have since uninstalled/reinstalled several times with no luck!! I am fairly certain it is not a connection problem because I was able to connect phone to PC when the program did not crash. It is kind of frustrating because this is such a fabulous program and would be really useful if it would work!!

On my side, it crash sometimes, and most important is that MPE shows "user loaded: sony ericsson g700" at he bottom of the screen application, but it can't communicate with the phone at all. whatever I try, I get the error message "phone could not be identified". Sometimes, I unplug and plug the phone again (USB cable), and I get the "could not open com3!" error message, or even some other times I get this error message: "SCOM error: -2147024809 failed to get I.P. address for requested service". And another error message is: "the file list could not be loaded".
The m-Router and PC Suite for sony ericsson work fine (slow but fine).

Problem fixed. I found out that the problem was (again) from the Sony Ericsson PC Suite. I uninstalled the latest PC Suite, and reinstalled an old SE PC suite version. Now, so far MPE 1.7.2 seems to work fine...

The new version on my PC keeps crashing.....when I edit or input a new contact details.

I just tried to upload a photo from my PC and it did it again.

I uninstalled the latest version and installed the old one that was before.

Just did it again.

First in contact details, then in filebrowser, then you installed the old version and after this it still crashes. What you want to tell me ?

Please tell me details and diffrences. With the informations you gave me i can do nothing. The logfile after the crash could also help (Start-Run-%appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer\Debug.txt)

Well, firstly a about 3 weeks ago, photos syncing on start up crashed so i removed that from the multi syncing preferences. Phone synced ok after that.

Then about 2 weeks ago, whenever I tried to edit a persons contact details or add a new contact, when i press to sync with phone the program crashes.

Unistalled new version and loaded in old version.

Tried to upload a photo tonight using the previous version and it crashed again.

Does all this make sense?

Im not to sure how to perform this task you mentioned.....

Click on Start (bottom left of the desktop), then on "Run". In the inputfield you enter "%appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer\Debug.txt". then click on OK. Important: Do this directly after the crash.

MyPhoneExplorer v1.6.7 was in general not compatible with the C905, please download and install v1.7.2 . If you have still crashs with v1.7.2 then post the logfile again after crash.

OK, installed new version again and tried a photo upload and updated a contact. Everything working as it should. Weird. I did have other issues on my works PC too.

Thanks for the help FJ......i use this program of yours all the time. Keep up the good work.

I took a look at my changelog. The C905 requires at minimum MyPhoneExplorer v1.7.1 - maybe you had installed v1.7.0.

I dont know what I clicked to download, I think i maybe have the old version on my works PC too. Im sure it was the last one you released.

Oh well, all is working as it should now and Im happy again!
