incomplete restore from backup

I had Samsung I9000 and have made backups regularly of my contacts. Short after, I realized that my restore does not return all my contact and retrieves only a part of it and then the program hangs.
I thought it is a problem with my phone, while my new S3 phone has the same problem. It sometimes get the message like: OBX error, however it is not the message when restore finishes(it say completed)
Anyways, I have reinstalled program several times.
Please help, as I have 1400 contacts.

You can try to IMPORT your contacts (also calendar) direct from your backup file instead of restoring it. To avoid doubles, delete existing contacts first.

first of all, please let me know how to use backup directly. Should I copy the file into the mobile and if yes, what is the location.

Hi,

no, there's no need to copy backup file to phone.
Just open MPE into your profile, go to contact list, then select "Export/Import" from context menu and choose the backupfile you've created before on your PC.
