I believe I have followed the installation and set up instructions correctly. MyPhoneExplorer installed on the PC, downloaded the ADB driver for X10, Enabled USB-debugging on the phone, connected the phone, selected Charge Phone, Opened MyPhoneExplorer on PC, Fixed the settings for Android and autodetect and to copy outlook data to the phone, then selected connect but keep getting message that no device attached to usb.
Help appreciated thank you. Rhonda

to be honest, I'm not a 100% sure what has gone wrong, but:
is the MPE application on your android started ? (dont kill it via a task killer or something)
or is it installed correctly ? (maybe install it manually from the market!)
there seems to be another device on your pc:
Motorola SM56 Data Fax Modem
can you maybe unistall it (if its no longer needed) or maybe disconnect it for another try! |

The message "No device attached to USB" can have only two reasons:
- USB-Debugging was not installed on phone
- the drivers are not installed correctly
Open the devicemanager (after yu plugged the phone) and check if there is a root entry called "SEMC Composite Interface" or similar |

Just bought a new Xperia X8 with latest Android 2.1. Specially bought a SE phone and not an iPhone because I still wanted to continue using MPE, which I have been using for the past 4 years and it has been working well and I have gotten so used to it.
But now my MPE cannot access the phone. Says 'no device attached to USB'. I also followed all the instructions carefully, as Rhonda above did.
I used to connect with the Infrared connection from the old phone and sometimes with the USB cable, but the new phone does not have Infrared connection. And my old PC does not have Bluetooth.
What should I do? |

After FJ first response re MPE being open on the phone, I went to the phone and downloaded MPE from android market and connected by wireless starting from the phone this time, following the wireless instructions on the FAQ.
Calendar transfer worked fine but I had no contact data. Have since imported some contact data from sim card (surprising since I don't save contacts to the Sim) Could MPE have transferred contacts to the SIM instead of the Memory card? I still have call log with names and numbers and contacts in the phone dialler and contacts in Phonebook but it is not entered as it is in Outlook. Is phone contacts and Phonebook the same data source? Where does MPE save the tasks, I cant find them anywhere. Have not tried to synch again since first transfer and would like the contacts problem sorted out first. I have switched to MPE at Sony Ericssons recommendation because previously recommended program (DejaOffice (phone) with CompanionLink (PC)) had totally scrambled my contacts data in synching with Outlook. I am a bit nervous with all this after the major drama it was to sort out my scrambled Outlook database. Does MPE transfer to native phone files or are there other options? Cant say my experience with MPE has been encouraging to date.
Thanks Rhonda |

I have downloaded the latest version and successfully connected using USB and sync'd outlook with the phone. All contact and calendar items transferred correctly (complete with contact photos) . All we need now is a tool to sync outlook tasks. Thanks Rhonda |

Hello,
I am trying to sync my P1 with Outlook 2007.
The contacts from my other phone are saved in the Outlook and I'd like to copy them to P1.
The computer is running Windows 7 64bit.
The MPE version is 1.8.1.
But the phone is not recognized by the MPE when connected by USB.
Thank you in advance! |

FJ hat Folgendes geschrieben: | Did you already read the FAQ ? Did you install already the PC-Suite ? |
Installed PC Suite for Sony Ericsson 1.6.0.
But strange thing happened: the suite just could not be started on my computer - the .exe file in the Program files does not start anything.
After that did some googling and found that the genuine suite drivers are not compatible with Windows 7 and must be replaced with some other ones.
Found the other drivers (supposedly better) and replaced the genuine suite drivers following the suggested procedure. No difference: again the suite could not start on the PC and MPE is not recognizing P1.
Years ago with my K750 did not have any problems..... |

Oh - i did not check your operating system. On Windows 7 x64 you will not get correct drivers for your P1i, no chance |
