application doesn't start

hehe, yeah, i know my friend, i just couldn't think of any solution to the problem myself, so i started this thread

it doesn't work in any style, it just hangs.... and neither v1.6.7 works...

i know i'd rather format the drive and setup everything again but i don't have the time currently.... i need to back up, etc....

anyway thanks for your help and your time, if you think of any other idea just post it.

Hi - just to let you know that I've got exactly the same problem. I also cleaned up my PC with TuneXP and cCleaner (+ others). Does anyone know how to get this problem fixed - I've followed all the instructions in the thread but MPE still doesn't load. However, now instead of just hanging on "loading interface" It says
"Run time error '0'" then "run time error '372"

Hello.
I tried to launch 1.7.1 today (earlier had older version, but as some problems occured, I upgraded) and some problems occured.

First - during install, while trying to register SPort.dll, there is an error.
Installation continues - when I try to launch MPE, I get en error saying that I need to launch it with Admin privileges to register it - but I do have such privileges.

I used some time ago CCleaner (and did not launch MPE) since that time.


I assume there is a problem with Windows registry - can you please paste content of the REG file so that I could manually update required data?

Try this solution and then start the setup throught rightclick->run as admin

I am not user, so I can not edit my previous post ...

Thank you, FJ - after reloging as Administrator and running setup again, application installed correctly and launches fine when logged as normal user.

it seems like i'm missing Microsoft's ActiveX Script Control. Maybe it has to do with MPE not running... Do you know where i can find it?

But please note that MPE does not need or load this library
