Hi, I try to configure MyPhoneExplorer on my new laptop just like I did on my old laptop.
On my old laptop, contact directory set in advanced parameter for Synchro option was correctly set to "backup\Contacts" (as configured in Outlook).
On my new laptop, MyPhoneExplorer set this directory to "MyAdressMail\Contacts" and I cannot change this directory to put "backup\Contacts" (as configured in Outlook).
Why MyPhoneExplorer set this directory to "MyAdressMail\Contacts" and how can I change it to set the correct value ""backup\Contacts" ?
Thanks .... |

Which version of Outlook are you currently using?
1. The old, traditional Outlook
or
2. Outlook New
Normally, you can specify the contact folder under MPE => F2 => Sync => Contacts/Sync with => Advanced => Outlook folder to synchronise. |

In some cases its needed to push the small blue refreshg button in the top right corner of the outlook folder selection window. |

Hi Ick1954 and FJ,
Thanks a lot for your answer.
I use an old version of Outlook (Outlook2010) and when I push the small blue refresh button in the top right corner of the outlook folder selection window, the directory sets by myPhoneExplorer doesn't change : myAdmail/contacts and synchonization doesn't work ..
Maybe MyPhoneExplorer is lost because I have Two different mail address configured in Outlook .. so I will try to remove one of these and try again to install MyPhoneExplorer ...

Icke1954,
This is my problem : when I select "advance" in MPE => F2 => Sync => Contacts/Sync with => Advanced => Outlook folder to synchronise.
MyPhoneExplorer set "MyadMail/Contacts" and I can not change it or add anything ... I don't have any choice and this directory is not the directory set in OUtlook configuration. |

I have a total of 5 email accounts and also use Outlook 2010, and they are all listed. It's known that there are problems with IMAP accounts; I only use POP3 accounts for contacts and appointments. Try activating MPE => F2 => Synchronization => Contacts/Synchronize with => Only MyPhoneExplorer => OK, then reactivate Outlook. If that doesn't help, you should indeed try reinstalling MPE. |

Hi Icke1954,
Thanks again for your help.
I only have one POP email adress on Outlook2010, I tried to active MPE => F2 => Synchronization => Contacts/Synchronize with => Only MyPhoneExplorer => OK, then reactivate Outlook.
But it didn't help.
I tried reinstalling MPE several times, but each time MPE set directory for outlook sync to "MyMailAd\Contacts" instead "backup\Contacts" to be compliant with "D:\Outlook\backup.pst" set in outlook configuration.
So I don't have any idea to fix this problem ...
Maybe change outlook configuration to set outlook directory configuration to
"D:\Outlook\MyMailAd.pst"
to be compliant with MPE that can not be changed !!! |

thanks for your idea Icke1954 but add a new data file in outlook configuration doesn't change anything ...
MPE doesn't add it in the list with MPE => F2 => Sync => Contacts/Sync with => Advanced => Outlook,
It always only keeps "=> MyMailAd\Contacts" even when I refresh with the button "print all directory" to the top right corner.
It seems that MPE it is not able to read Outlook config.
MPE doesn't update Outlook contacts or Calendar without any error message during synchronisation and I don't understand what file MPE is updating during synchronization.
So in Outlook configuration, I replaced data file that was D:\Outlook\Backup.pst by D:\Outlook\MyMailAd.pst and copied Backup.pst file in MyMailAd.pst in D:\Outlook directory to be compliant with MPE but this does'nt change anything.
MPE doesn't update Contacts and Calendar in Outlook.
My last ideai is to try to store MPE configuration in my old Laptop where MPE worked perfectly, and try to put in in the new laptop MPE where I configured outlook in the same way.
Do you have any idea where the configuration is stored for MPE ? |

I don't understand why you have such strange folder names ("MyMailAd\Contacts" and "backup\Contacts") in Outlook?
Normal would be e.g. => thaly@orange.fr\contacts.
I don't know what you mean by "new data file."
You should do the following: Right-click on your contacts folder (where the contacts are located) => New Folder => Enter a name => Select your email address from the list.
If that doesn't help either, then contact FJ directly via email with a link to this thread => Legal Notice |

@Thaly: Please run MyPhoneExplorer in debugmode: Win-Key+R -> myphoneexplorer debug -> OK
Then open the Outlook folder selection dialog
Now send me the logfile via email with a link to this thread: Menu - File- Connection - Show logfile |

According to the logfile i think you have two Office-Versions installed at the same time:
- Outlook 2007 (32bit) with the loaded backup.pst
- and a newer Outlook version (64bit) with the nchabart@orange.fr.ost account
Its in general not recommended to leave both versions installed, you should try to import the backup.pst file to the newer Outlook version, then its also accessible with MyPhoneExplorer. The old Office 2007 should be uninstalled then.
Or you uninstall the newer Office-Version - your decision |

Hi Fj,
Sure, it's totaly logical, with 2 installed Outlook, MyPhoneExplorer has to chose one to synchronize.
I uninstalled the more recent outlook version and now, synchronization is correcly done with outlook10, in D:/Outlook/Backup.pst file .... as I wanted !!!
Thanks very much Fj for your help to fix this problem ....I am relieved now ... |
