Messages remain un-read on phone

Hi, not a huge problem but since the latest andriod update (4.3) i notice that when you read a message on MPE, it doesn't mark it as read on the phone. Then you cannot clear it off the phone, it remains un-read?

Since Android 4.4 only the default SMS app has write access to the sms database, are we speaking about Android 4.3 or 4.4 ?

The logfile looks good. When you refresh the SMS-Content in MyPhoneExplorer -> is the message still shown as unread ?

There is another issue which might be linked? Double xxx on the message in MPE doesn't mark its as read on the phone. If i "download entire" on the messages page, it still remains unread on the phone. If i do a "Multi Sync" the refresh the messages it still remains unread.

Here's the other thing - If i read the message on MPE first by double xxx on it, the message remains unread as above but no matter how many times i read it on the actual phone, it always stays unread?? Linked to this must be?

I have had this same problem for over a year on S2 and S4, a workround I have found, if you go to the SMS settings on the phone, and notification settings and select 'Message Alert repitition', after the selected time is reached (mine is set to 2 mins), the message opened in MPE will get marked as read on the phone.

I think MPE is flagging the message on the phone but Samsungs notifications do not get triggered correctly, when the message auto repitition is triggered, the phone reads the message flag that was updated by MPE and updates the samsung notification system. It would be nice if MPE could trigger this update when a message is flagged.

Unfortunatly, this has now stopped working in the latest 4.4.2

Its definitely only happened since the last major Android update to 4.3.

Since Android 4.4 its not possible to write the sms database if MyPhoneExplorer is not the Standard-S;MS-App - so this is normal. But it should work until Android 4.3. I will see if i can get a Samsung phone to test this issue.
