I'm using MPE on HTC Wildfire (rooted).

Is it possible to start the android phone client as "root", so I can browse "/data" and other protected folders? (now they are simply empty for MPE)

On the phone, I'm using "root explorer" but it could be interesting using MPE to browse ALL folder ...

You can avoid the standby-mode in the settings of the client.

to return to my original problem, I'm using an HTC Wildfire.

I think the old version had the standby-mode disabled as default, the new one seems to have standby-mode enabled by default. And yes, then I changed ...

SOLVED

with new client version, default is to permit cell phone to go to standby. And in standby it is not working correctly (it did not signal it loose connection, and it seems not to work only downloading contacts; all other events works in standby too)

today I have installed new version of android client.

When I downloaded contacts, it removed ALL my contacts in my PC MPE.

I think it is a big big bug! :shock:

ps: nothing changed in android client (in settings menu), and it seems to work downloading calls, messages, and so on... "only ...

I am wondering cause the sending of broadcasts does not work on your PC. Do you have anything special setting which could block UDP broadcasts ? maybe a firewall ?

windows 7 home edition, with default settings (default firewall, using home settings for my LAN)

Your problem with contacts has nothing to do with your WiFi problems. Which version of the client do you use ?

I downloaded it from market (1.0.4)

after manual changing IP (and setting the IP of yesterday first syncro), after a multi-sync it duplicated all my contacts!!!
