have no idea how to "PING" yes phone and PC can use the internet when on the same network.
also have a problem with conecting over USB now.

It was a short lived successes back to the original problem.

What now?

That gets us no where.
Yes I restated and booted every thing before I even posted on here. both are on the same network. What do you think the result of pinging a phone that says waiting for connection on it will be and How do you ping anyway. I said I had little technical or product knowledge ...

Its difficult to say what the "nightly" version is!
and what did I not answer exactly?

What is the Nightly version and why did it work with it and not the standard version?

with the USB debugging On connection made.
Version on PC 1.8.7 on phone 1.0.40

nothing has changed on the computer, I think the App got an up date.
On the phone it says "Waiting for connection" in the apps pull down status bar.
As fare as I know nothing else has changed on the Phone.

Finally I've done it through export and import but there must be a limit to the number of messages that can be exported at one time. had to do it in sections one file at a time.

I've just tried to export the SMS messages and MPE crashes every time!

Hi, I have done something like that before when changing phones but I can't see how that works when changing PC's!
I have the MPE loaded on the new PC and its working fine the only thing missing is archived SMS messages. Where are they stored and can they be transferred to the new PC, what files do ...

Moving to use a new PC and want to take all my Computer achieved SMS messages with me. How do I move them over? is there a file I can copy across?

I have Kies installed, are you saying I need to run it at the same time or does the fact I have it installed mean that I have completed the step you say I can't remove?

Ok Laptop running Vista (Ultimate), so will I need to load USB- (ADB-)drivers, if I do where and how would I get and install them?
