MyPhoneExplorer does not run in background permanently. After 15 minutes without connection the client stops itself. so if you don't see this setting in MyPhoneExplorer Client then its disabled.

How can I disable MPE running (waiting) in the background for an active connection.

On some devices I have a setting "Launch Client Automatically" which allows to indicate what WIFI-routers to be considered, but other devices don't have that setting at all.

Can you not delete your contacts storage on the phone (i.e. delete all contacts) then re-sync so that only current numbers are then on the phone? (though it'd need repeating when old numbers built up again).

I'm using MPE together with Outlook and MyLocalAccount

As I have a lot of Contacts in Outlook that I don't need on my Phone(s), I'm using a Category in Outlook to indicate that a Contact should be synced and this Category is specified as Exception in MPE.

Working fine until I remove the Category ...

I tried removing MPE Client, deleting all Contacts on the phone (all accounts), reinstalling MPE Client and forcing a one direction sync --> doesn't solve the issue.

MyLocalAccount seems to be the best solution and now everything is identical for all Android-versions and choosen language.

Concerning MPE-desktop-app v2.1 and Android-MPE v3.6

Since many years all my contacts are stored / maintained in Outlook and synced with MPE-desktop-app.
They have always been available on the MPE-desktop-app under " Contacts / Local Phone Account (Phone )".

But a new contact I added in ...

- Uninstall and reinstall the MPE client on the phone
- Confirm all permissions
- Enable only the function MPE => F2 => Multisync => Refresh file lists
- Start multi-sync
- Confirm all accesses

I finally found some time to test above, and indeed, that solved the problem.
