How can I disable MPE running (waiting) in the background for an active connection.
On some devices I have a setting "Launch Client Automatically" which allows to indicate what WIFI-routers to be considered, but other devices don't have that setting at all.
On those devices "Connect" is always working without having to launch the MPE-client.
I don't need this, and as this involves battery consumption, I want to disable it.
Launch Client Automatically
MyPhoneExplorer does not run in background permanently. After 15 minutes without connection the client stops itself. The option "Launch client automatically" is only for phones until Android 9 and there you can disable this feature. For newer phones its not possible at all to detect when the phone connects to a WiFi network, so if you don't see this setting in MyPhoneExplorer Client then its disabled.

On some devices I need to launch MPE-client otherwise the "Connect" in the Desktop-App doesn't find the device. That's just fine.FJ hat geschrieben:MyPhoneExplorer does not run in background permanently. On more recent devices I don't need to launch the MPE-client, the "Connect" in the Desktop-App is always succesfull and the MPE-client launched automatically.
Meaning : something must be running in the background and looking for a connection, even if the MPE-Client is not "visible" ?
Nope - there runs nothing in the background, the PC-Version does send a Push-Message via Google and this Push Message launches MyPhoneExplorer Client. If you are interested in the technic behind: https://firebase.google.com/docs/cloud-messagingMeaning : something must be running in the background and looking for a connection, even if the MPE-Client is not "visible" ?

I am running Android 12 and, until recently, the MPE program on my laptop would automatically launch the MPE app on my phone (evidently via the push-message). Something recently changed... maybe a Windows Update or an update of the MPE client, as I now need to first launch the MPE app on my phone before a connection can be made. Would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks
Thank you. Your response sort of pointed me in the right direction. Not knowing how to enter MPE Debug Mode on my PC, I was able to resolve by simply updating the MPE program on my PC to the latest version. Afterwards I did figure out the Debug Mode after searching the forum (but at that point, it was no longer necessary). Thanks again.
