MPE not supported for W705?

I have been using MPE with W700 for past couple of years. Now upgraded to W705 & MPE is not recognizing it!!!!

I need MPE to badly work with this phone .. I need to backup my SMSes (& these SMSes run to more 25K in number, currently)... Can someone please help me out!!

Sony PC Suite is installed on the system, it recognizes the phone but not MPE is not able to.

Most awaiting for response ....

Are you using Bluetooth or the USB-Cable ?
Please post the logfile after you pressed "Search device" in MPE

PS.: Ensure that you are using the current version 1.7.6

I am using USB cable.

Change the Port to COM9 or select Menu-File-Users-New user/phone

FJ, this is magic!!!

Earlier I had checked with every port possible (COM1, COM9, COM10). It never got connected. After you told me to try with COM9, I thought of immediately replying saying that I tried with COM9 but it dint work.

But I thought I will give it another try before I inform you ....and magic!! Without any setting change, with the same actions that I used all these days to connect (all along failing to connect), today suddenly it identified & connected!!!

I am so so so so so so so happy!!! I cant describe in words!!!

Whatever made it work, I am so thankful to you !!!
