I am able to open MyPhoneExplorer once and sync my phone. From then on, if I unplug my phone and try and resync later, I get the above error message. If I close MyPhoneExplorer and reopen, I still get the same message. If I reboot the computer, I can sync my phone only one time and then I start getting the error message again.

I have searched the English board, and this problem has been raised repeatedly since 2006 (whether its COM9, COM6, or COM16 or whatever doesn't matter). This appears to be a software glitch of some sort; otherwise it wouldn't be happening with so many different people across such a period of time.

I'm running Windows XP and have aW850i.

Any ideas?

Its not a software glitch. This message appears often - everytime when the connection does not work. This happens also if there is no driver installed or when the cable is broken or when the wrong COM-Port is selected.

You problem is much more seldom, cause the above user-problems does not match here. When you get this message the next time: Go to Menu-File-Settings-Connection and press "Search device" - after this procedure post the logfile here.

I tried your suggestion and got this error message:

• Take the battery out of your phone for 2 minutes
• Restart your computer
• If you use Bluetooth: Make sure that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the "Serial Port" service is activated in your Bluetooth software
• If you use a USB cable: If a new menu appears when you connect your phone, then select "Phone mode" and NOT "File transfer"!
• If you use USB-cable: make sure that you have installed the drivers for it.

Other than restarting the computer or taking out the phone battery, none of these make sense to me. Would I need a driver for the USB-cable if the sync worked once already (when I started up the computer)? Wouldn't I already have a driver if it worked once?

Please follow my instructions and post the LOGFILE directly after the search was completed without result. To open the logfile: Menu-File-Settings-Show logfile

now you posted the log directly after startup/connect, i have to know the logentries while the device was searched
- plug in the phone
- run MPE
- start the search wizard
- after the serachwizzard has completed post the logfile

As you see in the logfile Windows registered that the phone was detached:

So i think the problem is raised from the drivers - uninstall the drivers from devicemanager and install them again with this driverpackage: http://grisu59964.de/utp/
