installation hungs on "Registering Sport.dll"

Beitrag von vermio »

Hi,

I'm trying to install MyPhoneExplorer 1.7.2 in my WinXp 64bit but it seems that it can't register file Sport.dll because the installation hungs at this point exactly.
I also tried deactivating antivirus but the result was the same.
Does it work in 64 bit systems? :?:

It should work on 64bit systems. Did you have admin-access during the installation? (This is required!)

Its a known bug which happens on some PCs. 64bit is basicly no problem.

• Disable DEP (Data Execution Prevention) while installing
• Disable UAC (User Account Control) while installing
• Log on as Administrator in Windows
• Run the setup not throught doubleclick, do it via rightclick->Run as Administrator

Currently i don't know exactly why this problem appears -> it came with a securityupdate for XP SP3, thats all i know.

@FJ,
I did what you adviced me except disabling uac (I don't think I can do it in XP).
Same error again.
I also tried without the firewall; the same.

Then I installed 1.7.0.
The installation proceeded till the end.
So, the problem has to do with the 1.7.2 version?

The only problem is the menu language: German. :?
Shit! I would bet I choosed English.:?:

What the Heck! I'll do it again. I have already installed it at least 10 times.
What's the problem if I did it once more? :)

Thanks anyway!

Theoretically the problem has com (including) with v1.7.0 cause the file SPort.dll was changed since this release. Why you cannot change the menu-layout to english in v1.7.0 ?
