how do you send flash messages?

i just want to ask on how do you implement the flash message when sending a message to phone? because i have read from different forums that some sony ericsson phones can send flash message by typing !! and your message. like

!!hello

that will make a flash message hello apear on the phone. but sad to say that this trick doesnt work in my phone so if its ok to ask maybe you can help.

I don't think its possible to send a flashmessage directly via phone. I transfer the GSM-coded message (PDU) to th phone so i have all possible flags which can be set.
