Can't install the modem drivers for my K810i

I can't get started with MPE as trying to install the driver package on my Vaio laptop running Vista SP1, although it all seemed to download and install [took HOURS to finish as it warned it might] properly and reported it had done so - However it failed to place the two modem drivers in my device manager list. Irritatingly it seemed to switch off my wifi connection and disabled a VPN client driver.

Any suggestions - I am loathe to try all over again before some expert advice - if you need me to post any other settings from my PC let me know

Which items from your phone do you see in the devicemanager if the phone got connected in "Phonemode" ?
