When dialling the special number for my account balance, which in my case is *#1345# the software adds the country code (+44 in my case) which makes an invalid number, which does not work.
How can I prevent the country code being added to some numbers?
Is there a temporary work-around to omit the country code completely for all numbers?
For example, in the file
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\MyPhoneExplorer\Sony Ericsson K310 [nnnnnnnnnnnnnnn]\settings.dat
there is an entry
CountryCode=44
Could I just comment out or delete this line?
I'm using MyPhoneExplorer 1.7.1 with a SE K310i on Win XP SP3.
Thanks in anticipation for any advice.
how to prevent unwanted country code prefix?
Thanks for your reply.
After further experiments, I've found that this problem with MPE only happens for numbers starting with the asterisk * symbol. Other 'special' numbers, such as 191 for Vodafone customer services, work OK.
My address book does not use the +44 prefix. I can't find any setting in the phone that would add +44.
When I dial the number directly from the phone's address book it works OK.
When dialling via MPE the actual phone display says 'Number error. Retry?'
The MPE popup windows says 'dialling... +44*#1345#' which is why I assumed it was adding the prefix. Maybe the pop-up message is wrong.
The fundamental problem I have is that numbers starting with * can't successfully be dialled with MPE. This is not a big issue, but is annoying!
If you'd like some logging please tell me how to do this.
TIA
