Gmail contacts sync with multiple e-mail adresses

I use Gmail a lot and have a lot of contacts, and some contacts have multiple e-mail addresses (ie gmail and school/work). The gmail e-mail address is necessary if I want to be able to chat with them on Gtalk.

But... here's the problem. My phone (Z520i) only supports one e-mail address per contact. Resulting in the fact that all extra e-mail addresses get deleted when I sync (not only on the phone, but also in my contacts in Gmail!)

I am very enthusiastic about the syncing because Gmail is the best, and so is your application. But because of this problem I can't use it. Do new SE phones support multiple e-mail addresses, is this problem fixable?
