Hi
First I wish to say this is a great piece of software! But...
The installer for version 1.7 just hangs at Register SPort.dll forever...
Any known work-around?
TIA

Hi
Is there any errormessage?
Do you have admin-rights?
Look into your systemdirectory (C:windows\system32).
Does the file SPort.dll exist in this folder?
Have you try a restart of your pc?
And, if all other hints doesn't help, try to disable your antivirus-software during installation.

Hi
it's XP SP3
no error messages, i am admin, pc restarted
SPort.dll is copied to system32
antivirus off
no progress...
hangs with process regsp.exe hanging. If I kill that the install finish, but with a non-functional MPE.
Could I do the registering manually?
/Mattias

Installing 1.7

Hi there! I use v 1.6, I think it's one of the most useful bits of software I have. I've just tried installing 1.7, after I get to the creating a directory stage, it tells me that 1.6 is open (it isn't) and I can only remove the error message via Task Manager. Any advice would be most appreciated!

Hi, I'm hoping that this will contain my registration details, so that you can respond to my previous post:

Just tried uninstalling 1.6 then installing 1.7. It worked perfectly!

@treignier: You are the man where the regsp.exe is blocking the setup. Am i right ?

No, that's me. I've just registered...
Found that this is what it tries to do when it hangs;
"C:\Program Files\MyPhoneExplorer\regsp.exe" "C:\WINDOWS\system32\SPort.dll" /s /i:"Franz Josef Wechselberger#0000KP-zip-zip..."
I've tried to run that manually. I get the DOS prompt back, but the regsp process is hanging in background. No error messages, alerts or anything visible.
Tried the older 1.6.7 version with same result at this PC (a Lenovo T60) but both works OK at a Acer Ferrari. Guess that are some dependencies I'm lacking for SPort.dll...?
Any idea? -Thanks

The depencies are not the problem, i think its regsp.exe itself. Try to register it manually with regsvr32.exe (same commandparameters). Make sure that you have all rights on the PC. Normally i have to use regsp.exe on NT-systems and regsvr32.exe on Non-NT-systems. Maybe it works on your PC also with regsvr32.exe.

Already tried that, even did it in safe mode (F8) as Administrator. Searching the net indicates others have had problems with SPort.dll, but no 'one-solution'. Policy settings are discussed, but this beats me as I'm a Java/Unix guy...
Cheers

@moden: You've got new mail - i think your mailprovider blocked the last mail cause the attachment.
@georgiano: I'll try to find the cause for it with moden, we will post here if we have the results.

Hi,
I am just retrying now but I can figure out when to run regsvr32 or other. Is it when running your install program?

regsvr32.exe is executed from the installer.
