Disconnecting constantly?

My phone is contantly disconnecting itself. The display at the bottom of MPE changes from "Phone connected: My Phone via com X" to "User Phone:My Phone" and i have to refresh to re-connect. I obviously don't get any notifications of any new messages etc until i refresh, which is a pain because you have to keep checking MPE to make sure its connected. Is it my phone causing this. Superb bit of kit though, be lost without it! Thanks

Did you enable "Disconnect after 5 minutes inactivity" ?

Hi. I have the K800i, using standard USB connection. I have checked the option and i haven't enabled "Disconnect after 5 minutes inactivity". Swaping from program to program on my pc can sometimes cause the phone to disconnect? If i "refresh view" from within the messages screen, it connects again and picks up any new messages. Thanks

Swapping from program to program doesn't raise a disconnect. MPE checks every 10 seconds if the phone is in reach, this could make problems. Can you post please the last 20 lines if you see that MPE did a disconnect ?

Both logs does not show a disconnect. The phone was connected up to the end of the logs.

The last logentry is a OK-response from the phone so i still don't think it got unconnected.

Couldn't it be a worst contact with the cable if you move the phone ?

I dont think it is the cable...I tried moving the phone around whilst it was idle and it did not lose connection, but again just now I made a call and connection was lost about 10 seconds into the call, I held the phone very still so really don't think the cable is the issue.

In this log the connection got lost, already tried it with COM45 ?

This thing looks similar like some other problems with the new phones. Have you the possibility to try it on another PC ? Does it also happen if you connect throught Bluetooth ?

Hi again FJ, I have tried on COM45, same result almost always 10seconds into a call, I dont have bluetooth on my comp unfortunately but will try connection through a different computer via cable sometime today

The disconnection issue seems to occur when I interact directly with the phone whilst it is connected, i.e. when I send a message or make a call from the phone itself rather than through MPE.

Thats my understanding anyway

I know and understand now the behavior, but i don't know how i could fix it cause the phone closes the connection itself.

The new models have some similar problems, i'm not sure but it has something to do with the drivers/cable. Some users told me that it worked again when they reinstalled the drivers or tried it on another PC.

You see i have actualy no solution for it and i hope we will find the reall problem throught try&error
