Restoring Backups to different firmware

Hi,

I backed up the phone to a file using the latest version of MyPhoneExplorer before I did a firmware update.

I can now restore the contacts and tasks but not messages, it says there aren't any when I know there were.

WOuld it be because I've changed the software in between?

Please help!

If the file contains no sms then you also cannot restore them. You can send me the backupfile so i can take a look at it, but i think you simply unchecked the messages when you created the backup.

Hi - I definately didn't uncheck any boxes - they were all checked when a backup was made.

What's your email address so that I may send the file?

Sorry for the delay - your mail was blocked from my spam-filter

Anyway i took a look into the backupfile: You DID enable the options for SMS, but there are no SMS-Data in the file. If there was a connection-error you would get a errormessage while creating the backup - it seems that the messagestorage was already empty. I hope its not too hard for you but i'm afraid your messages are lost.

Please make again a backup of your W910 and then open the backupfile to check if its a fault by MyPhoneExplorer. If its really a bug in MyPhoneExplorer i have to fix it immediatly. I tried it with my K800i but there were no problems with creating the backup.
