receiving text messages, sometimes phone doesnt ring?

ive just replaced my k800 sony erricson but on both phones this happens..... i receive a new text when phone is connected, sometimes the phone rings, sometimes it doesnt. it rings everytime when not connected tho! Any ideas??

I've noticed MPE seems to mark the message as 'read' in the phone almost immediately. Perhaps the K800 doesn't always have time to even register the message has arrived before MPE has marked it as 'read'.

Obviously, I don't know how all this works, so it's just a thought!
