Hi there,
first of all, big thanks for developing this wikkid app, it's the dogs danglies!!
I seem to be having a problem tho....
When i create a new sms msg or reply to one and press send, it seems to start sending, but then after a minute or so, i get a send failed error. BUT the message does actually get sent.
i am using USB cable and the latest version of MPE which I upgraded to today, but the same problem occured with the earlier version aswell.
Strangely enough, this does work fine on my works laptop using either usb or bluetooth!
Ok, this is the log entries from the time I sent the text, I also did a synchronise before i sent it.
The text was a 2 part message, and after speaking to the recipient, they only recieved the 1st half, but the problem occurs when just sending 1 text too...

The phone doesn't give response after sending the message. Normally the phone gives back OK after 3 or 4 seconds, in your case nothing comes back for 30 seconds. So MyphoneExplorer handles the message as not sent. how long it takes if you send the message by phone ?
2 seconds if that, its quick and if i save the msg as a draft and then send it from the phone it works fine.
From MPE it does send, but it's intermittant and sometimes it says failled but they do get it, but sometimes they dont get it so it's not reliable enough to use atm
This is another logfile entry.
I'd just let it do an auto multisync, then i went to messages and pressed reply on one, it then failed after about 30 seconds with a different error to usual, but it still said send failed. So i copied the text and closed the new text window and pressed reply again, pasted in the text and presesd send, this time it said successful.
So the log below is what i believe is from both those occurances....

You got an unknown error from the phone. Maybe a master-reset woul help. The error from this log has nothing to do with MyPhoneExplorer - its raised from the phone.
When I try to send a SMS, I get the error "Send Failed!" ca 30 seconds after pressing send. The message is not stored in the phone and not in MPE but the message is received by the recipient.

If you want I can send the complete log but it is large...
After the error the phone is disconnected, I can reconnect without any problem. I already switched the phone off and on, removed the battery for a while but still get the error. I use version 1.6.6 of MPE, my K850i is connected via a USB cable, my PC runs W2K.
Thanks in advanced,
Grumsel
Edit:
Just noticed a strange character in the log that disappears when I copy it here. The character appears at the end of the line with timestamp 14:46:14.72, it is a character with hex code 1A. Also in the line with timestamp 14:48:31.58 the same character is present, just before AT+. Maybe it has something to do with this problem.
I also noticed some extra CR's in most (not all) logging lines tagged [RX]. They mostly end with CR, CR, LF (0D, 0D, 0A) but this is probably not related to this problem.

I connected the same phone via BlueTooth to another PC (running XP) and then it works. Then I connected the phone to this PC via USB and then it didn't work. Here is the logfile:

On this XP PC I coudn't reconnect via F1, I tried several times. After I did a "Search for device" I could reconnect.
Any ideas why I cannot send a SMS when connected via USB? What can I try next?
Are you able to try it on another PC via USB ? It would be interesting from which side the error is raised - the USB-drivers on the PC oder the USB-Interface in the phone.
I did try a 2nd PC (XP SP2 home) via USB and it also doesn't work, the log in my previous post is the log on that 2nd PC. I will try a 3rd PC tonight (XP SP2 prof), I will post the result.
What looks strange to me is that after I reconnect the first thing received is the reply from the phone for sending the SMS. Seems like the message was pending in a buffer or the phone is sending the reply to late or the phone is waiting for something before sending the reply. I don't know how COM ports work via USB, I did some programming on real COM ports and I did see a similar result with XOFF's in a message and/or with hardware handshaking (RTS/CTS) enabled.
This 3rd PC is much slower (Pentium III) then the other 2 PC's I tried (Pentium 4). Could that be a reason? I checked the drivers and they had the same version.
It cannot depend on wrong settings for handshake or XOFF cause the same feature is working for many other K850i without problems. Its also not possible that the phone needs more than 30 seconds timeout for sending.
But its still interesting. Did you ever use the Tool "Hyperterminal" ?
