Stuck "Checking for latest version"

Just today when I start MPE (2.3) it is getting stuck at "Checking for latest version" - I have to force stop. I have reinstalled the 2.3 version and restarted the PC (Windows 11) but it is still happening. Any ideas please?

I also cannot reproduce the problem, however I see some possible measures:

Before sending the log to FJ, have a look into it by yourself. Maybe you get a hint. Consider the possibility, that the problem might or might not have to with this last message displayed, a later step without message could have caused that.

Uncheck the version check in the settings. If the problem is gone, you can work with MPE again und perform a manual version check from time to time. Or, if the problem is gone, you know a further initialisation step as probable cause for the malfunction.

Hi. Thanks but at the moment I can't open the application to look at logs or change settings as it doesn't get past this step. Are the logs viewable another way - are they kept locally somewhere?
