Is it possible to filter photos for sync?

Beitrag von vodoomoth »

Hi,

I have recently switched to a Pixel 6a smartphone, from another one. The photos that I had on the old phone were migrated during the Android data migration (I used a USB cable that connected the old phone and the new one together). All old photos are now available on the new phone and I can see them in the Gallery. So far, so good.

Photos from the old smartphone have file names that start with "IMG_" whereas photos taken by the Pixel have file names that start with "PXL_".

I have created a new user in MyPhoneExplorer for this new smartphone and everything works correctly (contacts, calendar, notes, etc.). However, I have not yet started a photo sync.

My question is whether there is a configuration option somewhere that I could set up so that only "PXL_" photos are synchronized? I'm asking because I already have the "IMG_" photos on my computer and I want to avoid having the hundreds of photos (if not thousands) written to the disk again.

Or maybe I'm just worrying about nothing? Is MyPhoneExplorer going to figure it out on its own? Maybe if I set it up to use the folder where I already have the "IMG_" photos?

Thanks for any input.

Concerns function 'Sync photos' :
MPE checks whether the photos already exist in the target directory and only copies photos that do not already exist.

With the function MPE = F2 = Multi-sync = customize you can specify which file types should be transferred.

Don't get me wrong:
Both functions work independently!

@icke1954 With your reply, you gave me the idea to define my own sync job. I will do that, and select indeed the old photo folder on my computer. Thank you.
