v1.6.3 contains a feature that MyPhoneExplorer detects if a message is deleted on phone but still present in MyPhoneExplorer. In this case MyPhoneExplorer will transfer it automatically to the archive.

A real recovery like a filerecovery from a MemoryStick is technically not possible.

deleted sms recovering

Beitrag von promille »

I would really need to recover a deleted sent message on a K810i-phone. My searching on the net for a solution led me to MyPhoneExplorer wich I think looks promising! :) Why didn't I have this program BEFORE deleting my messages... :(

It is kind of annoying reading "A real recovery like a file recovery from a MemoryStick is technically not possible.". But it's also kind of relaxing to know that I can stop my search for a recovery solution and just learn to live without that particular message! :)

Since I'm a technical interested person, I would enjoy if you could give me (or lead me to) a deeper description why message recovery isn't possible.

When I first got aware that I had deleted one message too much, I connected the phone to my computer with the original USB-cable and then copied the entire content of both the MemoryStick & phone memory to my computer. I also ran a "standard" recovery-program for deleted files on both locations, and also saved these files on my computer.

To me it doesn't seem like the messages (deleted or not) are saved in any file(s) located in these "disk"-locations, and I suppose that's why recovery is impossible. But I would really like to hear a technical description about where the message-storage is located and why this storage isn't capable of recovery!

Thanks in advance for any person spending some time to increase my knowledge!

The messages are stored in the internal memory-part which is not visible from a PC with normal connection when the phone is switched on. MyPhoneExplorer reads the messages throught AT-Commands. its a fixed interface for sms-reading and there is no possibility to read custom bytes in the internal phone-memory. If you want to go deeper in it you have to use flash-tools so that you are able to access the internal memory.

But for this you have to search the net or ask other people. I never use Flash-Tools.
