Repeating events Outlook to Android miss final occurrence

Using MPE 1.8.15. Outlook 2002 SP3 (not a typo) on Win 7 64-bits.

If I create a weekly recurring calendar entry in Outlook, specifying an end date (as opposed to number of occurrences), the last occurrence is not copied to the phone.

E.g., I created event "Test" starting date 2020-01-01 ending 2020-01-15 (weekly every Friday) and my phone shows the event on 2020-01-01 and 2020-01-08 (but not 2020-01-15). I created this test to confirm that I could reproduce the error that I first noticed on a real entry. Outlook on the PC correctly shows all 3 events. The event was set up this way from the start (I did not extend the number of occurrences later).

I can't be 100% sure, but since I use this type of repeating event all the time and I'm sure I'd have noticed this earlier, I'd venture to say that this bug appears in one of the later versions.
