MPE hangs when Outlook running !!!

I'm using MPE 1.8.12 and Outlook 2016 and I can not sync (using the MPE program) while Outlook is open. I noticed there is an Add-In for Outlook and none of those buttons in Outlook work. Any ideas.fedloan irs.gov easybib
