I used MPE 1.8.7 to sync the Local Contacts on my BB Priv with Outlook and it was working great with Android 5.
I then upgraded my Blackberry to Android 6 and since then MPE could not recognize the Local Contacts anymore. I waited for MPE 1.8.8 thinking that between Android 5 and Android 6 there was a change in the way local contacts were stored and managed. I hoped that MPE 1.8.8 would solve this but now that I have upgraded MPE to 1.8.8 I can see that the problem is still there.
I can of course install MyLocalAccount but this means that I will have to transfer one by one all the contacts I have created in the phone since the issue occurred and that are not synced with Outlook (there is a lot).
Does anyone know a way for MPE to recognized locally stored contacts on Android 6 without using MyLocalAccount?
Is it that the phone app of MPE won't see the contacts? Or is it that you cannot see the contacts with your phones Contacts app?
If the latter then see what options in the app you have for displaying different contact accounts. If the change happened with the 'upgrade' of your phone's android version I'd be looking there first.

The phone still sees the local contacts but the MPE phone app and the MPE Desktop app don't see the contacts.
I guess MPE doesn't really support local contact for Android 6
