screen lay-out issue - new laptop at high resolution
screen lay-out issue - new laptop at high resolution
Hello,
I'm a daily user of your excellent program. I worked perfect on my previous HP laptop (resolution 1600/900). I switched to a new HP Spectre laptop with a resolution of 2560/1440. For some programs the text was too small, so I had to change the text layout to 175 % instead of the default and recommended 200 %. For all programs this is a good setting, unfortunately MyPhoneExplorer is an exception. The text is too small - and there is a mismatch in the layout of the left-upper corner (tabs). I would like to send you a screen print with a separate mail if this would be useful.
High resolution laptops will become very common, so I hope that a solution can be found for this annoying issue.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Screen resolution
Thanks for your answer.
I installed the new version 1.8.8, but my problem with the nearly unreadable screen due to the high-resolution is not yet solved.
kind regards,

I tried to fix this issue, but i am afraid its not possible from my side because its a glitch in VB6. Let me explain... VB6 measures in "Twips", its a virtual Unit. At 100% Scaling There are 15 Twips per Pixel, at 300% Scaling there are 5 Twips per Pixel. At 175% Scaling there are 8,57 Twips per Pixel and now we have a problem: The Value "TwipsPerPixel" is a Integer Value without commas so it will be 9 TwipsPerPixel. And the diffrence to 8,57 is the glitch you see.
One thing could help eventually in the newest Build of Windows 10 you have the ability to select a scaling behaviour on App Base in the compatibility settings for MyPhoneExplorer.

screen problem
Hello Franz-Josef,
Thanks for your reply. I tried your suggestion changing the compatibility settings for MyPhExpl : Windows 8 - this gives the screen that I had with my previous laptop - now I have to scroll but much better readable.
Many thanks for your support, and for this great software!
kind regards,
José

screen resolution issue
Dear FJ,
Unfortunately, I have made my message too fast. The solution via compatibility is unstable - after synchronisation the high def. screen (with the readability issue) is coming back...
I hope a more sustainable solution will be found.
kind regards,
José

Hello,
The text layout of 177% = 8.47 Twips does not help.
Having the same issue as mentioned in previous posts. Is there any solution? The App is hard to use on a laptop.
[EDIT] - What I just noticed, the resolution keeps to be okay, as long as you specify to perform the sync with MPE only. When you change MPE to sync with Microsoft Outlook, the resolution changes the moment you perform the sync.
