Hi,
I have a lot of contacts on my phone and I have them in numbered groups. For example I have with a suffix of 12 and a group with a suffix of 13 etc
If I want to select everyone in group 12 when I perform a search it also selects people who have the digits 12 in their phone number. Is there any way to disable this
Thanks in advance
Searching for contacts
Re: Searching for contacts
Add a comment/note to every contact on your phone. Then you just search for that. Or you work with groups and select the group then.

Thanks for the quick reply
Its not that simple. The groups are set for school register groups.
So I have the numbers stored as their year group and the name of their school teacher, as well as pupil names. There are times when I want to send a text to a class group in a certain year so I search for 12 GBR (For example, that will select a year 12 group taught by teacher GBR) but it selects everyone with 12 in their phone number as well.
I just want to search within the first and last name fields, not the phone number fields

I hope this makes sense.
This is the filtering system for messages
http://prntscr.com/4uftde
it would be great if the contact system had this kind of filter

If I'm understanding you correctly (see below), then here's a suggestion for a workaround.
Start from the CONTACTS list instead of the message screen.
Highlight everything within your proposed group, rightclick & go to Write Message.
I assume you meant your contact list looks something like this:
10-Adam
10-Bob
10-Charles
10-David
11-Allen
11-Brad
11-Cindy
11-Dawn
12-etc
12-etc
12-etc
12-etc
Then when you want to send a message to everyone in your "10" group, you'd navigate to the first name in that "group". Click. HOLD DOWN SHIFT...hit the down arrow 3 times (in my example) to highlight the rest of the entries that start with "10-" Once that's done, hitting "Write Message" sends your message to everyone you've highlighted.

Thanks, that is the work around I am using now and it works for us. However, an advanced filter on first name and last name would be much slicker. It is implemented on the message screen, just not on the contacts.
I have added it to the wishlist for future releases, so fingers crossed.
