Waiting for connection on client
Waiting for connection on client
I have been using myphoneexplorer for about two years very successfully. I sync using USB with my Android phone with both my home and work computers. Recently I bought a new car stereo and I sync with it using Bluetooth. The client worked fine after adding the bluetooth sync to the car.
Now I try to open the client on the 'droid and the top line says "client starting" and pulling that icon down reveals a screen that says: "Waiting for Connection. app will be closed in 15 minutes."
It shows a Wifi Connection symbol, a bluetooth connection symbol and a USB connection symbol.
It dies at this point, nothing ever happens from that point.
I am flummoxed.

I am trying to open myphoneexplorer on my phone. I have several hundred contacts - which are intact and which sync successfully on both PCs. Both PCs open the contacts successfully but the phone goes to the "waiting for client" and will not open.Koelner hat geschrieben:Wait, wait, wait!
What are you trying to do?
And what does not work anymore?
Can you give a little more detail?

Which phone do you use?
Wich version of the client is installed on the phone?
Which version of MPE is installed on your PC?
You try to connect the phone with your PC via BT/USB/WIFI ?
And what is that story about a car stereo set?????
Android - Incredible 2
Latest version of myphoneexplorer on all platforms.
Connect to PCs via USB - as I said in my original post - and I connect to my car stereo via Bluetooth. The "Waiting" message includes the Wifi, USB and Bloetooth - hence my mention of the car stereo.
I don't have a clue what MPE I am using on the PCs, but there is not problem with the PC or with syncing with the PCs.
When you say MPE are you referring to Myphoneexplorer? If so, then it has nothing to do with connecting VIA Bluetooth to my care stereo.Koelner hat geschrieben:I still don´t get it.
How is the MPE involved in connecting your phone to your car stereo set?
The MPE is a tool to synchronize data from your phone to your PC and third party applications like Outlook or Thunderbird.
HOWEVER when I try to open Myphoneexplorer on my Android it says "Waiting for connection" and lists WIFI; Bluetooth and USB. I was trying to provide as much info about the problem as possible. As you say it may have nothing to do with why the app never opens on the phone.
Pc and phone have version 1.8.5 installed.
Yes!petegrk hat geschrieben:When you say MPE are you referring to Myphoneexplorer?
Now we´re speaking the same language.petegrk hat geschrieben:If so, then it has nothing to do with connecting VIA Bluetooth to my care stereo.
May I ask what you expect the MPE Client on your phone to do?petegrk hat geschrieben:HOWEVER when I try to open Myphoneexplorer on my Android it says "Waiting for connection" and lists WIFI; Bluetooth and USB. The client just provides the needed gateway between your phone and the programm on your PC. And from your first posting I asumed that you were able to connect your phone with your PC to sync your data.
I have tried every combination of connection: Wifi/USB/Bluetooth.
I don't think MPE is involved in the connection from Phone to Car stereo. It is my understanding that the bluetooth mode is to sync with PC if PC has bluetooth - which mine does not. I connect to PC via USB both at home and at work, and sync works perfectly.
The frustration comes from the fact that MPE opened fine on the Android and now it won't. So every time I change a setting I am getting further from the setup that worked.

Your car stereo does see the serial port service hosted by MyPhoneExplorer and probably it thinks its a common modem interface - which is not the case. Please disable Bluetooth in the auto-launch-settings of MyPhoneExplorer Client on the phone(this option was made exactly for this case). Then restart your phone.
