As in subject. Connects OK (after some modifications of W7 firewall) but pending connection sometimes breaks w/no reason (at least I don't see any coincidence with phone activity). Then usually I turn of and on MPE client and it restores connection immediately.
I would appreciate any hint or idea on what is possibly going wrong or what to check in a system.

I have same problem.
During synchronization with many contacts, the smartphone client closes and after a few seconds it automatically restarts.
This makes impossible to finish the synchronization.
I tried to uninstall and then reinstall the client, but I always get the same problem.
I have a Galaxy S Advance with Android 4.1.2.
Any ideas?
Thanks |

Have you tried to set the client to a setting that forbids the phone to switch into standby mode? |

I have set the client to not go into standby.
The client closes during the transmission, if it is only connected, it maintains the connection. |

->Koelner: setting MPE to avoid standby mode drains battery significantly. Is it the only way to fix the problem? If so, then probably I have to rethink the way I use MPE
Usually I have WiFi turned on all the time in the office (8:00-17:00)and MPE as well - w/o standby mode I won't probably work longer than 8-10 hours. |

->Koelner: I am checking now the setup with MPE disabling standby mode, but to avoid battery draining I am entering standby manually.
A bit annoying, but so far it's working fine....
It is likely that the Android configured to enter standby automatically (after - say - 15 secs idle) is in conflict with MPE and disrupts connection sometimes . I hope |

You are seriously telling me that you don´t end the MPE client on your phone after sync? Well, in that case... |

In that case... what?
Yes, I am seriously telling that. I work with Outlook intensively and my calendar is usually full, I also modify my contacts often during the workday. I usually have 2-3 meetings outside the office and when leaving - on the go - I simply close MPE to sync all. When I'm back - I would like to be connected without thinking of it just to sync again when leaving.
Simple. And - mostly - it works like that. But sometimes the client looses connection or the connection can't be restored when I'm back.
But anyway this is a decent software, I've never used better for this purpose. |

Try to set the Client to connect to MPE when conncted to your own Wifi.
Another possibility would be to work with profiles on your phone. For example, I use Phone Weaver. With this app you can start a app with using a defined profile.
Just one thing to think about.

That's exactly my way.
Thanks for the hint - I'm gonna try PhoneWeaver. Do you have any experience with PhoneWeaver on Android 4.2.2? |

That´s what I use for years now. Only the NFC Plugin seem to be a little bit sluggish. |
