After a synchronisation with MPE I find that my contacts in Outlook 2002 have a new category "System group: My contacts". (I have seen this before but did not report it.)
I have discovered how to remove this spurious category that adds nothing to the utility of my contacts list!
But I would prefer not to generate it in the first place.
Is there a way of suppressing generation of this category?
Mike.
MPE generates contacts with category "System group: ...
Tell me how
Hi Mike,
How did you remove the category?
In my case it is worse as all my categories disappeared and replaced by "My contact"

Ah, if you haven't got a back-up I don't know how you get them back!
In my case I just display all items by category and select those under the spurious one. Then right-click the collection and choose categories. (So far, so obvious!) Then I un-tick the spurious category in the list, leaving the others (which will mostly be greyed-out because they do not apply to all entries) alone. Then, amazingly, doing "OK" just removes the unwanted category leaving others untouched!
Note all that is under Outlook 2002, as I said.
Mike.

Now I've looked at contacts in Google (which I rarely do) I see that the full set has acquired an equally pointless "My contact" category too!
Mike.

This group is created automatically throught Google. MyPhoneExplorer just syncs the contacts - as complete as possible - with Outlook.
