Thanks for the pointer that direct sync is possible. I am very pleased with it.
I have noticed that in the following situation I get a problem.
Roccurring events. I use lots of these to show my work shift system. On Sunbird my shifts are recorded as all day events that re occur on the same day of the week every 8 weeks. I then delete the particular 'shift' that I have booked as holiday. Sunbird then shows me only the shifts I have to work. On syncing I get these deleted events back.
It seems that the sync program reads the reoccurance and overides anything else, forcing it to reoccur, even if an actual event is removed from sunbird.
Using Sunbird 0.3.1 and MPE 1.5.9
