Hello!
First: Love MPE! Been using it since Jan '12 with much success (thus my donation ).
Second: FAQ suggested info:
- Galaxy Nexus w/ Jelly Bean
- USB Connection

- Windows 7 SP1

Fourth: Problem Details:
-When I plug my phone into my PC via the USB (which is how I have always connected to my PC), it no longer recognizes my phone and suggests I set up a new user profile.
-Looking in the MPE data files, I noticed that MPE has assigned a new ID number to my GN. Previously it was "[samsung Galaxy Nexus 9900002******]", and now there is a new folder for "[samsung Galaxy Nexus [600F39F*****]". I'm guessing this is why MPE sees it as a "new" phone, but I have no idea how to correct it.
-On Friday January 11, the sync worked as it always has. Sat/Sun I did not connect to my PC. On Monday January 14, MPE no longer recognized my phone. Thus, the change had to occur between 1/11/2013 and 1/14/2013.
Fifth: Additional Info:
-I have not updated the OS on my phone since the release of Jelly Bean (last year).
-I have made no other significant changes to the configuration of the phone that would cause the ID number to change (that I know of).
-I have been using MPE 1.82 since it's release with no problems.
-I don't know if the phone client of MPE was recently updated b/c I have it set up to auto-update... so if a new version of the MPE phone client was recently released, this might be a possible cause.
This is all I can think of for now. I hope you can help, b/c I use my phone for my professional appointments and contacts, and this malfunction is really causing havoc! :-O
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer!

The ID of your phone has changed. I don't know why this happened, its a very seldom problem. Maybe you did install a security app which does anonymize your ID so other apps cannot track your real ID. To fix your problem:
- open the database folder of MyPhoneExplorer (Start-Run-%appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer-OK)
- copy all files and folder inside "[samsung Galaxy Nexus 9900002******]" to "[samsung Galaxy Nexus [600F39F*****]". |

Dear FJ,
I tried copying all files from the old ID to the new ID folder. Unfortunately that resulted in MPE attempting to make duplicate entries into my Outlook calendar (I am assuming that since it sees the phone as "new user" it is attempting to add the new user's appointments to the calendar instead of comparing the new user's appointments to the existing appointments and only adding what is new/changed). So I'm left with the choice of letting MPE duplicate all of my appointments, or I have to manually edit each record during sync. Neither are desirable because I have nearly 1,000 records in my calendar.
I have no idea how or why the ID# changed on my phone. If I can determine what number MPE uses to create the MPE User ID#, perhaps I can figure out how/why it changed. Do you know where MPE retrieves this number from? I checked obvious numbers, such as ESN, but found no matches.
Thank you again for any help you can offer!!

Just handled a similar issue...
Probably you have installed a security app which protects other apps from reading the phones IMEI, cause reading the IMEI fails MyPhoneExplorer Client does use now the Device ID |

I have a similiar problem except I did not notice it for a while. As a result I have
D:\Users\Kent\AppData\Roaming\MyPhoneExplorer\HTC PC36100 [A10000138A1B36]
and
D:\Users\Kent\AppData\Roaming\MyPhoneExplorer\HTC PC36100 [A10000138B9A02]
both with files and folders I need to merge into one user profile.
How can I do that?
I do not want to delete or overwrite the information stored in either set of folders. I need to combine/merge them.

You can switch the users in Menu-File-Users...
Switch to the old Profile and Export the data as *.vcf for Contacts, *.vcs for Appointments and *.sms for Messages. Then Import them in the new Profile. Export/Import is located in the contextmenu of honebook, calendar, sms-archive... |
