Recurring Outlook Calendar appointments go on forever

Beitrag von RichardMcKenzie »

Hi, new user. Thanks, FJ, for the great software and being there...it works great except for my recurring items...when I sync, it is making these show up on every day, and these should have ended long ago on the date slated.
I have a Samsung Conquer, just letting you know.

Is there a setting on the desktop application I should be doing to make the recurring calendar items work correctly?

For example, if I slated an item to take place in Outlook on my desktop to last, say, 3 days, it is now showing on my Samsung every day, so it is defaulting to taking place every day without end.

Thanks!!!

Its a bug which i am currently detecting. Rightclick the item in the calendar of MyPhoneExplorer on PC and choose "force edited".

For my interest: Did you select for this event a fixed enddate or "ends after xxx times" ?

Hello,
I am having the same problems with recurring events endlessly repeating.
My events have been created with "ends after xx times".

Which item?
The first or any item in the "correct" series ?
Or the first or any items in the erroneously "repeating section" ?

When are you going to fix this?

Let's remember that MPE is freeware, and pay attention to the fact that some ways of phrasing questions can sound a bit arrogant considering we are not obliged to pay for using the software.

It's curious, my girlfriend has this problem with Outlook 2007 and Samsung Galaxy SII for appointments that have repeat for xx number of times, but still go on forever on the phone after sync.

I ran a test today with my own calendar and my phone expecting the same result. I added recurring appointments and recurring events, 3 times repeating each. After sync they were transferred perfectly to my phone.

Maybe the endlessly recurring bug is tied to a corrupt PST or something? It is certain that this is not only a problem of MPE at least, because Kies (and possibly also Sony Ericsson PC Companiion) produced the same endless repetitions.

When I get the time, I will run a few tests on my girlfriend computer and phone and create a new calendar there and see how that behaves.

Inbetween i know it was a bug of the calendar viewer in some Galaxy Models. I have implemented since Client version 1.0.16 a routine which pre-calculates the expected end date cause the phone seemed to be not able to do this job. So check if your client is equal or above 1.0.16 and please note that the fix will not touch already created appointments. For already existing - and wrong - appointments select rightclick->Force edited. Then sync, if the items are still shown wrong after this then i have to check the behaviour again...
