X10i connection problems

1st I would like to thank you for your great application, I have used it and has been quite helpful with my SonyEricsson phones.

Now I own a X10i, updated to the latest available firmware: 2.0.2.A.0.24.
I'm using My Phone Explorer 1.8 with the client installed from the Market.
My 1st issue is that when trying to save or delete data in the phone (like SMS) I would experience often disconnects when using the USB cable. Using the wireless option, it's not even detected, firewall is disabled. So it was really difficult for me to use MPE with the X10i.
My 2nd issue is regarding my previous phone P1i and the missing date and hour information for all the SMS I sent. Ofcourse in the phone each SMS displays the date and hour at which it was sent.

Later edit: I have did an uninstall and re-install of the MPE client from the market, a disconnect and re-connect of the notebook to the router. Now the MediaPhone Explorer has found the X10i via wireless.

It's common for the time information to get lost when restored. I'm not sure if FJ has found a way to work around this.

As for the disconnects: Are you using the USB that was send with the phone?
If so, do you use an usb hub? Maybe avoid this and connect the cable directly! Does this help? Disconnects are often called by bad connection!

Yes, I am using the USB cable that came with the X10i, directly connected to the notebook where I have installed MPE. It may be a physicall connection issue or stability of the connection, because after plugging in the cable, I am asked several times what I want to do: charge the phone, manage files, install phone software.

About the wireless connection, sometimes it would work and sometimes it would not. I do not think I am changing anything between times it's working and the times it isn't. But it seems it just can't find the phone (the MPE client is working and it knows on which IP the phone is), or it can find it but it can't connect to it.
The phone ofcourse can read e-mail, browse the internet, post on Facebook, so the wireless is working. Since I am posting from the laptop in question, its connection is good too.
Restarting both the laptop and the phone did not help, still can't connect.

Are there any logs I could post here? How do I get them?

yes, please post the log file. In order to do this, follow this:

try to connect. If connecting fails, go to File -> Settings -> Show log file

I noticed that on the rare ocasions the phone is found by MPE via wireless connection the screen of the X10i is on. When the screen is off, with keypad lock, the phone is not found via wireless, even if I checked the MPE option "Avoid Standby-Mode". It has stopped working after a few times connecting, I can't find a reason, something different between successful and unsuccessful attempts.

I have installed also on Huawei S7 tablet, worked once, now does not want ot connect to it.

The next update will contain a posibility to enter the IP of the phone manually. This needs also time but it will work better
