Takes HOURS LITERALLY to synch with X10 mini pro

I'm new to Android and very disappointed of xperia X10 mini pro with Android 1.6

I went looking for a way to sync with Outlook and read that My Phone Explorer is the best of the best. All the features are exactly what I need.

My problem is that it is taking hours to sync. I started at 11:15, now is 15:07 and has not finished, same yesterday, same the day before.

I used to have around 1,200 contacts on Outlook and a calendar with an average of 1 to 2 appointments per day. Now I have a lot of duplicates and close to 1,900 contacts

I also got messed up a lot of my contacts, the information of some fields got moved, so instead of having:
Dr
Smith, Richard A.
Pediatrician
Hospital ABC

now I have
Pediatrician
A.Smith, Richard
Pediatrician
Hospital ABC

I'm running on:

Xperia X10 Mini Pro U20a SI-1239-7437 Android 1.6
Windows XP in Spanish, SP3
Outlook 2003 (11.8325.8329) in Spanish, SP3
My Phone Explorer 1.8.0 in Spanish

You should disable the automatic sync to Google in phone, this should speed up the sync. Cause your problem with duplicates -> which Version of the client you have installed on phone ? Cause Name-Format -> you can switch the format to Lastname, Firstname in the settings of the client.

FJ, thanks for your reply. I didn't return sooner because I have been having problems with the 2.1 android update.

I deleted MPE from my PC and reinstall it. My phone was updated to 2.1 so it was a clean install too. I synch with the default options and took a couple minutes, then I switched to synch with Outlook 2003 and it's taking a while, since it is deleting like 1,000 duplicate contacts.

I disabled the synch with contacts both on the setting of the phone AND MPE client, but I can't with calendar because of corporate requirements. I'm doing a synch now with Outlook 2003 and it is taking about between 1 to 5 seconds per contact, so I'm going for lunch and let the phone synch, hope that it will take less than the 4-5 hours it was taking before.

The client on the phone is 1.0.6
