Translation of Non english and "&" characters

Hi All,
I recently copied all (most) of my data from my K770 to my X10 and when I went looking through the phone list I found that some characters translated into unusual ones.

e.g
"Lörrach" became "Lörrach"
"&" became "Ã &Ã"

It was an easy fix, I just went through and changed them all back to what they should have been. Is this uncommon or maybe due to the data coming from a non android to an android phone?

- X10 Mini Pro, U20i, FW 1.6, Kernal 2.6.29, Build 1.2.A.1.174
- WiFi
- MPE 1.8.0
- WinXP Pro SP3

Both interfaces uses UTF-8 encoding, so it should basicly work. Did you copied the data with Menu-Extras-Restore backup ? If yes - what happens if you import the backup ? (in the contactslist->rightclick->Import/Export->Import...)

Yes, I imported via "Menu-Extras-Restore backup" but when I import via "contactslist->rightclick->Import/Export->Import" this imports everything properly.

Its currently a bug in the client when a backup gets restored. I will try to fix this

Thanks FJ. There were only a few entries with umlauts so it wasn't hard to manually change it. Thanks for the work around and also for the continued development and improvement of MPE...
