I've tried it again with 60+ accumulated texts and there's been no problem. Damn. I'll let you know if I can finally reproduce it, but it could take awhile at this rate (if I'm not deliberately trying to reproduce it I can probably get it to happen at least once a day, sigh).

I've managed to reproduce it, by turning off logging it crashed on the second message I deleted. With logging turned on it worked fine.

Um, any suggestions?

This was from deleting SMS messages, one after the other.

ich mal wieder. Ich arbeite ausgiebig mit der Tastatur und den Windows-Konventionen CTRL und/oder SHIFT zum markieren von mehreren Nachrichten, wobei mir der MPE regelmäßig und reproduzierbar wie folgt abschmiert:

Man markiere eine SMS, drücke SHIFT und "Pfeil-runter". Nun sollten zwei SMS markiert sein. Nun denke ich mir "Hoppla, eine zuviel markiert!" und gehe mit "Pfeil-hoch" wieder eine Nachricht zurück. Dann lasse ich SHIFT los, drücke ENTF und ENTER... schwupps, ist der MPE weg.

Was auch auffällt ist, wenn man per "Pfeil-hoch" die Liste wieder "zurückmarkiert", das das Vorschaufenster immer eine Nachricht im Rückstand ist, also nicht die aktuell markierte angezeigt wird, sondern die davor.

Hmm, actually since you mention this I should mention that I'm also deleting messages entirely using the keyboard, i.e. using the arrow keys + delete, rather than the mouse. OTOH I've tried just now using ctrl-shift to select messages without noticing problems.

I've been running the latest version for awhile now and it hasn't crashed again as it used to so I guess it's been fixed

I guess I spoke too soon, unfortunately it's still happening, although it's a lot rarer now. I dropped it into a debugger, since there are no symbols present the information is a bit vague but for what it's worth:

although that's VB's wonderful "something went wrong" indicator rather than a real FP exception so the only thing that may be useful is the address.

Probably, I'm clearing a list of messages by hitting the 'Delete' key repeatedly (and occasionally scrolling up or down to skip a message). So if it's a problem with timing then it could be that I'm triggering it, the keystrokes would be much faster than typical mouse clicks.

(PS: Fragen in Deutsch sind OK, aber ich antworte besser in English, computerdeutsch haben wir in der Schule leider nicht gelernt

welche Version verwendest du ? Ich verstehe nicht wieso ich das Ganze auf meinem Rechner nicht reproduzieren kann. Das macht das beheben dieses Bugs etwas schwierig.

Die neueste, 1.7.1. Das Problem ist... hm, the problem is that even here it's extremely intermittent, I haven't been able to identify any pattern to it so it's not readily reproducible, the best I can get is that after deleting 20-50 messages it eventually happens. The next time I have a sufficient number of messages ready to delete I'll see if it happens at a particular message number, and then after that whether leaving (say) a 1s pause between messages helps. The problem with the intermittent nature is that if the problem doesn't appear it's not guaranteed that it hasn't been triggered, just that it hasn't cropped up in this case.

Ich glaub, mein Problem passt sehr gut zu dem Thema.

OS: Vista Ultimate x86
CPU: AMD Turion64 x2

Mein MPE stürzt nämlich ab, wenn ich viele SMS gleichzeitig ins Archiv kopier oder verschieb. Ich glaub stark, es liegt an der Menge der SMS. Ich hab über 4000 SMS im Posteingang. Kopier/Verschieb ich alle auf einmal, verschwindet nach ein paar Sekunden die SMS-Liste und sie füllt sich mit einem diagonalen Streifenmuster, gleich danach kommt die Meldung, das Programm wird wegen eines Fehlers nicht richtig ausgeführt.
Mach ich das selbe mit weniger SMS, gehts ohne Probleme.
(Log-Einstellung, wie oben erwähnt, ändert leider nichts.)
Da es aber auch beim kopieren passiert, kommt der Fehler bei mir nicht unbedingt durch Löschversuche.
