Hi,
I have a new Samsung Note 3 and a Laptop PC running Windows 7 64 bit version. The laptop is running Thunderbird version 17.0.5 calendar.
I have many single calendar events that I add myself which seem to sync fine. I have recurring events which do not sync except the first time they are added. At some point, once I go beyond the 30 days or 90 days, the recurring event stops synchronizing. This is getting to be very annoying as I am starting to miss meetings at work due to the fact the calendar is not fully synchronized.
I normally run the sync with the "Synchronize both" setting. I have tried to force the sync from the Thunderbird calendar onto the phone, and that does not seem to make any difference at all.
I just tried synchronizing "all" events without any time restrictions and that added a few individual events but not the missing recurring events.
I am not sure what else to try. I really liked this application when I first started, but, now I am about ready to uninstall it. Can someone suggest a fix for this issue?

To be more precise: These events get synced only for the start date or they are missing at all ? Which appointment recurrence you did set for those appointments ?

Thunderbird recurring events not syncing correctly
I am seeing the same issue.

I am using Lightning to sync Thunderbird with our corporate calendar. This works fine, also for recurring events.
When a recurring event is added to Thunderbird via this sync for the 1st time it is also sync'd correctly with MPE.
However, if any changes are made to the recurring event in the corporate calendar (e.g. an exception made to the recurrence pattern) these changes are sync'd to Thunderbird OK, but not with MPE. Generally the appointment gets lost in the MPE/Android calendar.

Exceptions on ruled events are not supported with the sync to thundebrird at all, but this topic is on my todo list

Thunderbird Calendar Sync
MPE only seems to sync Calendar items that I add personally to Thunderbird. Almost everything else is ignored, especially if they are recurring events. I end up having to duplicate almost every appointment on my calendar to be able to see each instance. Very ridiculous work around. I am trying to find a better Sync App since this one does not seem to work., though I am happy to hear that this issue is on your "To Do" list.
