Photos deleted without a trace!

Help, I've recently had a large number of photos deleted from my phone during a sync operation despite the settings being told that no photos should be deleted or even sync'd at times.

Also it's saying it cannot find the photo folders at times whilst others it seems to sync fine when multisync'd manually. I've lost 2 large sets of photos i needed for work because they disappeared when syncing.

Any thoughts out there on what could do or retrieve if possible?

Photos normally don´t get just deleted.
Check on your computer, they should´ve been copied there first.

Yes it seems they do. I've done a search based on modified date and there is nothing on the pc whatsoever that has been saved of that date it happened Sad

While on usb connection it now says could not find photos folder on phone?

Wait, let´s start at the top.

If you disconnect your phone from your computer, are you able to locate the photo folder on your phone?
Oh, and just in case something got puzzled here, switch your phone off and on again and take a picture after that.

Where can´t the photo folder not be found? In your computers explorer or in MPE or both?

I've managed to sort it now thanks with data recovery software.

'my computer' didnt show a phone drive. USB debugging was on. I could see the phone folder on my phone but it was just empty unless i took a photo. It was on MPE that it gave an error during sync saying could not find phone photo folders despite folder being set up in the settings. Also the settings had been set to not download photos so didnt understand why they were deleted.
