Background: I recently had to recover from a corrupt Windows 7 Ultimate user profile. This required creating a new user and copying m Documents over from the old one. Then I had to recover an Outlook pst file from my backup drive. Things are pretty much back to normal now, and Outlook seems to work fine.
However, MPE will no longer sync the Galaxy phone Calendar with Outlook. It says it can't load the Outlook file when I try to synch. Contacts sync seems to work fine, although it wants to delete a lot of entries from since the Outlook file was old.
Question: what's the best way to proceed? I searched for Outlook corruption and someone said to use a product from PCHelpSoft.com but backed out when they wanted $135!
TIA,

Problem solved. After a bit of Googling and dodging traps for all sorts of unwanted downloads I found a mention of scanpst.exe, an MS tool for fixing Outlook pst files that comes with Office. It takes a bit of searching but it was on my machine. Took quite a while, but it found and fixed the problem.

Spoke too soon. After running the .pst file through scanpst I imported it into Outlook. I then launched the client on phone and ran MPE and tried a Calendar synch. No more "Loading entries from Outlook failed" message. HOWEVER, I found that that the new phone entries were not showing up in Outlook. I then discovered I had two Personal Folders in Outlook. I suspected MPE was syncing with the wrong one, so I removed the second one and started over. That is, I again grabbed a outlook.pst file from a backup predating my disaster and copied it to the AppData folder. MPE was then back to "Loading entries from Outlook failed" while Calendar syncing. I ran scanpst on the pst file several times, until it found no significant errors. Still no joy.
I have found threads from months ago about this error and the issue seemed to have been resolved.... but not for me. I've been working with the assumption that the problem was due to to my corrupted pst file, but maybe it's an MPE issue?
Any ideas on what to do next? |

Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the MPE?
Therefore MPE should consider your new Outlook as the only true source. |

No, I haven't. Do you mean MPE on the PC or the phone client?
Thanks.

Finally got it working. Can't say for sure what fixed it. After running scanpst several times the active outlook.pst file still failed. Then, just because I hadn't done it before I Imported the saved version from the most recent scanpst, using the option to import into the active folder and skipping duplicates. Then synch worked! |

If the problem is back again: Delete the user profile in MyPhoneExplorer and recreate it. MyPhoneExplorer does save the used Outlook profile and maybe cause of this the wrong Outlook profile was synced |

Thanks. I dearly hope it never happens again... that is, corrupted Windows User profile. It's right up there with failure of the C: drive! Almost every software I use no longer recognized me. I've come to depend on MPE especially, so I'm glad it's back.
