I love myphoneexplorer and would really like to keep using it with my new S4. However, the phone isn't recognised by the application. I've enabled USB debugging, of course, but can't find a way to prevent Windows from connecting to it as a storage device. There doesn't seem to be a "charge only" option.
There didn't seem to be one with my old Galaxy S either, but it had no problem connecting. (I've loaded the mfe app to the phone, but that doesn't seem to help).
Does anyone have any ideas about this? |

Can you not connect via wifi? Makes life a lot easier. Well, it does for me anyway ......
As for the connection type, there should be a setting on the phone that determines this. |

Thanks. Strangely, i could never get the WiFi to work with the old phone, so didn't really consider it with the new. The vagaries of technology...
It seems to be working now. |

I just upgraded to an S4 and I am also unable to connect via USB. I was able to get it to work via WiFi, but Control Phone / Load Screenshot doesn't work over WiFi at all. I wouldn't be surprised if some other functionality was also USB only. Also, USB is way faster for large file transfers. Not sure if this is problem of S4 or 4.2/JellyBean in general. |

When the phone is unlocked, and you connect MPE via usb, you will be asked on the phone to allow connection from your PC. Mine does this every time I reconnect via USB as it is a new security feature added in Android 4.2.2.
After accepting the connection my S4 connects fine with USB to MPE.
However, I soon got feed up having to accept the connection each time I connect on USB so have reverted to WiFi. |

Hmmm, I seem to be getting the same error as most of you, where MyPhoneExplorer doesn't detect my Galaxy S4 even though USB Debugging is turned on and the phone is active.
I was wondering if there are any plans by MyPhoneExplorer to possibly address this? (Just asking :-) I love this software!) |

You guys having problems with USB, have you read the 'How TO' and 'FAQ' on this and having the correct adb drivers?
Can't be more specific as a) I don't have an S4 and b) I haven't used USB to connect for a couple of years now .... |

I read elswhere on this forum, you may need to redownload MPE 1.8.4 even if you already have this version installed, as the installer now contains the updated ADB drives required to connect with 4.2.2 android.
You may need to reboot afterwards as well, but not 100% sure on this. |
