Read FAQ, still confused. Questions not addressed.

Beitrag von androidbeginner »

I have read the faq, several times, but it is incomplete and does not answer my specific questions.

My nexus 7 connects by wifi to my Windows 7 laptop and MyPhoneExplorer (1.8.4) connects fine by wifi. The FAQ helps with that, but that is not my questions. On the Nexus I use Business calendar with LOCAL CALENDAR (not the default Google calendar).

Using the default settings in MyPhoneExplorer:

1. In which direction is the syncing? Which gets overwritten: the nexus 7 or the laptop's MyPhoneExplorer calendar? Which is the primary calendar, the one I should make all changes to? The one on Nexus or the one on the PC?

2. I do NOT get a confirmation before syncing. So I do not know what will change. Very scary,

3. In the sync setting screen, for the calendar, what does selecting "iCal_File Local" really mean? How do I fill out the advanced screen? Will the ICS file be changed by MPE?

4. Where does MyPhoneExplorer keep the data files it keeps on the Windows laptop?

I really need detailed instructions beyond just how to link the device in MPE. Is there a user manual?

Thank you

1) Its a bidirectional sync. If you want to make sure that nothing is cahnged on the phone then use the second button in toolbar (Download entire) instead.

2) A confirmation window can be enabled for sync to other targets (f.e. Outlook), not between Phone <-> MyPhoneExplorer. It runs stable enought, you'll need no confirmation screen here

3) It means that MyPhoneExplorer cans ync with a plain ICS-File which is stored local or in the web. And yes - MyPhoneExplorer will also update this file

4) Menu-File-Settings-Advanced 2-Database (default its %appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer)

There exists no help file for MyPhoneExplorer.
