I am experiencing a weird thing with the PC client of MPE.
Earlier tonight, I was changing my ROM so I took a full backup (including apps) with MPE.
I installed the new ROM (CyanogenMod 7.2 – the old ROM was CM 7.1) and installed MPE Android client from the market. I paired the phone with the laptop again so that I could use the Bluetooth connection.
On to restoring what I had backed up a few hours earlier. When I click Extras>Restore backup and select the .mpb file, MPE just closes in my face: all windows close and the process disappears from the Task Manager. I guess there's a silent uncaught exception somewhere.

How can I know where the problem is? Thanks.23:56:39.16 [TX]: AT+CSQ

[EDIT]
I hadn't said it but of course, I returned to CM 7.1.
I have taken another full backup but without the apps this time: same problem. But when I select one of three older backups (from 2012-05 to 2012-06), I can actually get to the Restore Backup dialog where there is that red and white lifebuoy.
What these three backups have in common is that their "Anrufliste" (is that the call list?) is grayed and unticked.
So I took another backup without ticking "Anrufliste" and I also get to the Restore Backup dialog! So the problem is with the call list!
FJ, could you please deactivate any controls that are performed there in case there are any? The call list is very important to me. Thank you.
